Local Business Offers Fall Chores for Charity01-Nov-2016
Did you ever think that your annual fall yard cleanup would be an activity that could help the local community? Well, it can and the good news is you don't even have to pick up a rake!
To celebrate National Gratitude Month, Creative Roots Landscaping has come up with a unique idea, the benefit of which is threefold. The local company is offering their services at standard rates to residents who are looking for help with their yard cleanup, cedar hedge shaping, fall pruning, gutter cleaning, and more. The bonus is that 20% of the proceeds, up to $6,000 cash, which otherwise would be the company's profit, will be given back to the community. That means 700 hours of maintenance service for the maximum cash donation to be reached. That's a lot of yard clean up! Helping customers, helping the community and keep the staff working later into the season - hence the threefold benefit.
Since the inception of the company-wide Employee Give Back Program in 2007, Creative Roots employees have helped many local organizations via cash and in-kind donations, valued at over $110,000.
This year alone, Creative Roots staff have donated to the following causes:
- Giving Giggles ($3,000 cash)
- Okanagan Boys and Girls Club ($800 cash)
- BC Cancer Agency ($100 cash)
- Freedom's Door ($100 cash)
- Kelowna Women's Shelter ($500 cash)
- BC Lions Camp Winfield ($3,000 cash)
- Food Bank ($200)
- Arion Farms ($4,000 approximate in-kind value)
For 2016, Creative Roots staff are targeting more than $15,000 in Give Back to their local community, and residents can help them reach that goal this month.
So, if you are looking to not only cross off a chore form your To-Do list, but also feel good about helping our local community, give Creative Roots Landscaping a call. You'll be grateful to save time, avoid back pain and make your money stretch twice as far!
