Landscape Technician
This position reports to: Landscaping Leader
Positions reporting to this Position: None
Ultimate Goal of this Position: Make Creative Roots an industry leader using your technical knowledge to create cost effective and awe inspiring landscapes. To assist in the development of skills and knowledge base for all crew members.
Must Have Qualifications:
- Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5) with Heavy Trailer Endorsement and clean Driver's AbstractYo
- At least 2 years of formal training or equivalent industry experience
- Hold a CIT Level 1 certificate
- WCB Occupational First Aid Certificate (Level 1)
- Fit enough to perform labor intensive work for a full shift.
- Have the ability to guide one to two team members with loose supervision to complete tasks
Working on the business- strategic work:
To Keep Creative Roots current with the industries latest standards, methods, and techniques. To ensure policies and procedures are carried out correctly.
This is what you'd be doing:
On a Daily Basis -
- Contribute to the morning huddle (5-15 minutes to discuss what’s up and goals for the day).
- Build: rock walls, brick patios, driveways, sidewalks, laying out garden beds, installing drainage systems, installing low voltage outdoor lighting, irrigation and plantings, digging, lifting and carrying heavy loads, etc.
- Helping the Landscape Leader with prioritizing, organizing and performing daily tasks.
- Making recommendations to the Landscape Leader about upgrades and newest landscaping methods, equipment and inventory.
- Using and teaching proper use of equipment and safety procedure.
- Assisting the Landscape leader in delegating tasks to ensure the team is efficient in completing their daily tasks.
- Occasionally filling out work orders for small jobs you are undertaking.
- Digging, pick axing, lifting, carrying, wheel barrowing, etc.
On a Weekly Basis -

How you'll know you're doing a great job:
- You will be rewarded through our Bonus Plan if you have met the company targets and measures.
This is what you can expect from Creative Roots:
- A seasonal position with 40 +/- hours Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday) of 40 weeks per year weather permitting beginning approximately March 1.
- A wage of $17.20 - $20.05 per hour plus overtime compensation, benefits and bonuses paid out every 90 days.
