Ultimate Goal of This Position: This position is responsible for bettering skills (with training provided), and implementing those skills on the work site for yourself and crew members with a professional manner and great attitude. Make Creative Roots an industry leader using your technical knowledge to create healthy gardens.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Horticulture certificate or 2 years industry experience
- IPM certificate (with pesticide dispenser’s license)
- WCB Occupational First Aid Certificate (Level 1)
- Valid BC Driver's License with clean Driver's Abstract
- Physically fit with a keen attention to detail
- Desire and initiative to grow within your position and the Creative Roots team
- A desire to get shit done with a sense of urgency
- Desire to play on a winning team
- Capable of leading one to two people in completing small tasks with little supervision
- Bondable

ICING ON THE CAKE:
- 1 - 2 years experience in hardscape
- Outstanding customer service skills

SOME OF WHAT YOU’D BE DOING:
|
|
|
On a Daily Basis:
|
- Contribute to the 5 - 15 minute daily morning huddle.
- Learn and practice all safety procedures.
- Learn and practice the use of equipment related to the industry.
- Work with the Maintenance team to maintain beautiful gardens for our customers.
- Prepare chemicals and load equipment on and off trailers and trucks.
- Carry out and teach team members the proper techniques to weed, cultivate, deadhead, dig, lift, carry, wheel barbarrel, etc.
- Assisting the Maintenance Leader in ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Occasionally filling out work orders for small jobs you are undertaking.
- Be constantly thinking on how you can play The Game to the best of your ability.

On a Weekly Basis:
|
- Contribute to the Weekly Huddle.
- Hand in your Time Sheet complete, correct, and on time.
- Keep up-to-date on news and events at CRG via our internal Intranet site & email.
|
|

- Happily take instruction from an experienced Landscape Maintenance Leader.
- Ask questions when needed.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- A desire to learn the industry and progress within the Creative Roots team.

- Bring needed supplies for work every day (lunch, water, PPE - Personal Protective Equipment).
- Report all injuries and notify Leader of past injury concerns immediately.
- Maintain a mature, courteous and effective relationship with all team members.
- Achieve 80% billable efficiency on a daily basis.
- Document all chemical use.

You will be rewarded through a competitive hourly rate of compensation and be given the opportunity to move up the ladder with clearly defined position outlines and requirements. Once you complete your 90-day probation period, you will enjoy a stake in our Bonus Plan along with a Benefits Package if you have helped the company meet its targets and measures during the season and fulfilled the requirements of your position & the company as outlined in your Scorecard & Training Passport.
This is what you can expect from Creative Roots:
- A seasonal position
with 40 +/- hours Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday and weather
permitting) with our active season beginning approximately March 1st and ending December 1st.
- An hourly rate of $15.30 - $16.30 plus overtime compensation and the opportunity to participate in our Bonus Plan.
