Landscape Maintenance Leader
This position reports to: Director of Beautiful Yards
Positions reporting to this Position: Landscape Maintenance Technicians & Crew Members
Ultimate Goal of this Position: Make Creative Roots and industry leader using current technical knowledge to create healthy gardens. Also, to implement quality and skill development personally and among team members to ensure customer satisfaction. Work with the best people in the industry!
YOUR Qualifications:
- Horticulture certificate
- 3 - 5 years industry experience
- Exceptional plant, turf, and irrigation knowledge
- Exceptional time-management and communication skills
- Able to plan and schedule multiple projects at one time effectively and efficiently
- Knowledge of Maintenance costing and estimating
- Successful supervisory experience, continual training, and leadership skills
- Physically fit with a keen attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service skills
- IPM Certificate (with Applicator's License)
- WCB First Aid Certificate
- Valid BC Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract
- Bondable
ICING ON THE CAKE:
- Experience working locally with Zone 5a and 6a plants
- Hardscape knowledge and/or experience
Working on the business (strategic work): Being that you are the first point of contact it is your obligation to communicate Creative Roots values to team members and customers alike.
some of what you'd be doing:
On a Daily Basis -
- Pick up daily work schedule for your team.
- Ensuring the tools, truck and trailer organized, clean and ready for each day.
- Hosting daily 5-15 minute huddle to discuss daily what’s up, daily measure and bottlenecks.
- Prioritizing, organizing and performing daily tasks for yourself and team members.
- Get your hands dirty while you oversee your team perform Creative Roots maintenance services.
- Training team in effective, safe and profitable work habits.
- Complete daily work summary sheet and hand it in.
On a Weekly Basis -
- Prepare weekly work schedule on last day of work week.
- Hand in your team's weekly time sheet (on-time and complete).
- Contributing to Weekly Huddle.
- Meet with Leadership Team and C.I.O. weekly to review schedules, bottlenecks, client additions and changes, etc.
Additional -
- Contributing to Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Planning Meetings.

You will achieve 80% billable efficiency daily, and ensure that your team is meeting their pre-determined efficiency rating as well. Document all injuries. Maintain a mature,
courteous, and effective relationship with all team members.

You will be rewarded through compensation and a stake in our Bonus Plan if you have helped meet the company targets and measures.
This is what you can expect from Creative Roots:
- A seasonal position with 40 +/- hours Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday) of 40 weeks per year beginning approximately March 1.
